Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Voyant cost?

Voyant is absolutely free.

Why is Voyant free of charge?

Our business model is not about charging consumers. Voyant has built-in advertising. Additionally, consumers who want professional advice can use Advisor Connect, a feature that provides a direct link to licensed financial professionals who use our companion product, Voyant Advisor. Financial professionals pay for subscriptions to Voyant Advisor.

Am I obligated to use Advisor Connect?

You never have an obligation to connect with a financial professional. If, when and how you choose to share your plan is completely up to you. If you want professional advice, choose from a growing list of local advisors or invite your current advisor to learn more. If you don't like the service you receive, disconnect from the advisor and your plan will no longer be accessible.

How are advisors selected?

Voyant does not select advisors. Financial professionals pay for subscriptions to Voyant Advisor. To purchase subscriptions to Voyant Advisor, Voyant requires financial professionals have certification from The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

How do I terminate an advisor relationship?

Terminating an advisor relationship is quick and easy: simply click the Disconnect button. The advisor will no longer have access to your Voyant plan.

How much does Advisor Connect cost?

All features in Voyant are free to consumers, including Advisor Connect.

Do you need my Social Security Number?

No, and Voyant will never ask for it. EVER! The only piece of information we need is a valid email address. We ask for your name and zip code, but you are welcome to provide false information.

Do you sell, rent, or supplement my personal information?

No, and we never will. We do not sell or rent your personal or financial information to anyone. We do not share your personal or financial information with anyone outside of Voyant for promotional and/or marketing use. We do not share your financial information with anyone, including employees of Voyant, for any promotional and/or marketing purposes. To learn more, read our Privacy Statement.

Is Voyant available as a desktop application?

Yes, if you prefer to use Voyant as a desktop application, you can access the Voyant download by following these directions:

1. Before downloading, please make sure you have Java installed on your computer. Java is required to use Voyant.
2. Click here to access the Voyant download.
3. Sign in using your username and password.
4. Click the Plan Now button.

Since the Voyant application is written in Java, it is platform-independent and runs great on Linux as well as Windows and Mac platforms. Additionally, by using Java's Web Start technology to deploy the application, the install of the application is more like the downloading and caching of Web content such as images and flash files as compared to a typical download and install with native installation programs. It has been our experience that most computers with the typical download limitations do still allow Java Web Start-deployed applications.

Does the Voyant download include any spyware or third-party software?

No, Voyant does not include any spyware or third-party software. Voyant is certified by the TRUSTe Trusted Download Program. TRUSTe certifies that Voyant software neither serves advertising outside of its own interface (e.g. as pop-ups), nor collects a user's behavior in another application to transfer to a third party.

Voyant is also certified by Hackersafe, a company that tests and certifies daily to pass the HACKER SAFE Security Scan. To help address concerns about hacker access to confidential data, the "live" HACKER SAFE mark appears only when a web site meets the HACKER SAFE standard. Research indicates sites remotely scanned for known vulnerabilities on a daily basis, such as those earning HACKER SAFE certification, can prevent over 99% of hacker crime.
