DevOps Engineer

Voyant is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join our team in maintaining and enhancing our development and deployment systems. The successful candidate will have expertise with virtualized Linux environments, along with experience building, configuring, and maintaining production deployments at scale. While AWS experience is ideal, we are open to candidates looking to gain expertise in AWS.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop tools (e.g. dashboards) to continuously improve maintainability, monitoring, security and scalability of Voyant production environments (We have at least 5 separate production environments).
  • Propose, design, and develop new DevOps projects, often in concert with our AWS consultant partner.
  • Coordinate and perform periodic maintenance of all test and production AWS deployments (image updates, disaster recovery test, etc.)
  • Develop expertise in our current deployment solution, and continually design enhancements. Technologies used include: EC2, RDS, VPC, CloudFormation, Route53, Jenkins, OpenVPN, Tomcat, Apache, Java.
  • Setup and maintain internal DevOps tools such as Jenkins and Git.
  • Support customer internal deployments of Voyant services and applications.

Requirements:
  • Experience as a Linux system or DevOps engineer.
  • Automation scripting language experience (Python+, Bash, Groovy).
  • Expertise with virtualization technology and methods.
  • Experience maintaining production web deployments.
  • Configuration management experience (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Self-starter who takes initiative.
  • Must like dogs.

Additional Ideal Experience:
  • Cloud computing administration - Amazon AWS preferred.
  • Jenkins.
  • DB experience - MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
  • Load balancing and networking (HTTP, SSL, etc.)
  • Web and application security.
  • Experience or familiarity with Java application servers and servlet containers.
